    Last minute booking, reasonably priced.

Twin beds very narrow. Plumbing noises very loud from other rooms. Few stains on scatter cushions.

I liked the cleanliness, price, good breakfast, size of room, great heating, free parking, smiling and efficient service at this hotel. Some of the reviews had made me nervous about the hotel, but it was perfect for our purpose - visiting family, and making a week-end seeing a new city in the uk - with Cadbury world and the canals of Birmingham as well, just a few min. Drive by car.

Staff were friendly and didn't mind that we checked in very late. Breakfast was alright and the room was quiet.

The room was fairly clean but very basic and wires were poking out of the ceiling where a lamp will obviously be attached at some point. The towels and bedding were worn and the bathroom needed cleaning. The hotel was perfectly adequate for one night but I would not recommend it for a longer period. The bathroom reminded me more of a hostel than a hotel in terms of levels of cleanliness.

Had appointment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and it was recommended by a friend. The staff were delightful, welcoming and helpful, it is an elegant period building that has been extended /refurbished and is still having work done internally and externally (at the back). .We feel sure it will be perfect when work has been finished on the gardens/parking area at the rear and on the very large side extension which looks impressive and presumably shortly to be furnished. We really enjoyed our meals especially the cod masala which I had never tried before and my husband had steak with stilton stuffing. The cost of the whole stay with food and black taxi to hospital was very reasonable. The receptionist ordered the taxi for us to the hospital and another member of staff checked it without our asking earlier the next morning. It arrived dead on time. Only one minor comment the tap on the bath/shower was not working 100 percent, water coming out very slowly and I found difficult, as it had to be held down during use (room 414). The bedroom/bathroom were excellent and very clean, everything new..Very convenient situation on the main road but room very quiet at the back..

We liked everything abou it and will use it again if they will maintain this level of service. So did not dislike anything is the ansswer.

It was handy, not to far from city centre, near major roads.

My room was a bit noisy.

The hotel was perfect for our stay, there were 4 of us girls travelling as a group and the room met all of our needs! It was clean with a double bed and 2 singles, a bath as well as a shower, hair dryers and the room it's self was very big. Brrkfast was lovely and so was staff. All at a very good price.

The only thing that we found that could have been better was that there was wifi but had to be purchased on top if the room price. However this didn't really effect us as we didn't spend much time in our room.

Price / location. Clean and comfortable.

Towels looking a bit sorry for themselves - threadbare and holes appearing. Breakfast was poor, soggy toast with hard bolied poached eggs,

The easy booking easy to get to for our venue rooms very clean and was kept so throughout our stay the ability to control heating

The high cost for breakfast and difference in price between bookong in the evening compared yo the morning not able to open the window unable to get extra beverages untill next day

Clean in bedrooms and all reception areas. Excellent breakfast

Bedroom was in the West Wing, security light on all night at same height as window. Even with a good curtain it looked like the sun was coming up all night

Our second stay, staff as friendly this time as last. The rooms were perfect again. The location for our purpose was perfect. The Hotel is lovely, the grand entrance is wonderful. Yes there is some on going work ,but this did not impact upon our stay at all. If we have to come back to Birmingham , would love to stay again. Keep up the good work

It was ideally situated for Edgbaston Cricket Ground as well as for the town centre. Both of them were within 10mins by car/taxi. The hotel was good value for money in comparison with other hotels in Birmingham. Note that the trade off is that the rooms are not fancily decorated, but are of a good clean standard.

Locking the gates to car park at 10.00pm seems a little silly.
